Every Tale of Heart piece begins with a story and is brought to life by master artisans who shape, carve, engrave, polish and finish each piece by hand.
From responsibly sourced gemstones to the final polish before it reaches your hands, every detail is considered so your jewellery can become part of your story for years to come.
How long does a personalised piece take?
Each personalised piece is made especially for you and usually takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks to complete.
Some designs may take longer depending on the level of detail, design approvals, gemstone setting and the time required by our artisans. If your piece is connected to a special date, please share this with us when you enquire and we will guide you honestly on what is possible.
Can you guide me through the design process virtually?
Yes. We can guide you through the personalisation process remotely.
Depending on your piece, we may share sketches, reference imagery, gemstone options, design notes or progress updates digitally, so you feel guided and informed before your piece is made.
Where is the jewellery made?
Every personalised piece is handmade in Jaipur, India, by the artisans we work closely with.
Each piece is made with care, skill and time, then thoughtfully checked and prepared by Tale of Heart before it makes its way to you.
Can I use my own gemstones?
At this stage, we are unable to use customer-supplied gemstones.
To protect the safety of your stone and uphold our standard of workmanship, we work with our own trusted stone cutters and artisans. This allows us to carefully assess each gemstone, setting and design so the finished piece meets the quality and integrity we want for every Tale of Heart piece.
Do you work with natural gemstones?
Yes. We work with natural gemstones, including moonstone, rose quartz, citrine, amethyst, obsidian, pyrite and many other meaningful stones.
We are also happy to explore birthstones or a particular gemstone you have in mind. Availability, colour, size and suitability may vary depending on the design, but we will guide you toward a stone that can be set safely and beautifully.
Because each gemstone is natural, colour, tone, clarity and markings may vary slightly from the images shown. These natural variations are part of what makes every piece one of a kind.
Do I need to pay an initial deposit?
There is no deposit required to book an appointment or begin an enquiry.
Once your design direction and quote are confirmed, a 50% deposit is typically required to begin creating your personalised piece. The remaining balance is due upon completion, before your piece is shipped or collected.
Can I make changes after the design has started?
Small refinements may be possible during the design stage.
Once your design has been approved and production has begun, changes may no longer be possible or may require an additional cost. This is because each piece is made specifically for you, and materials, stone setting and artisan work may already be underway.
Can I return a personalised piece?
Because personalised pieces are made especially for you and your story, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind once your piece has been received.
Before completion and shipping, we take care to share details, imagery or approvals where required, so you feel confident in the final piece.
If you believe there is a concern with workmanship, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review the piece with care. If an adjustment is required after receipt, some costs may apply depending on the nature of the request, and the piece may need to be safely shipped back to us. Return shipping costs are generally borne by the customer unless otherwise agreed.
